I failed to show The Line Writer how to use the macro closeup attachment lens on the Fuji Instax Wide 210 camera, but I really like the soft-focus effect he's achieved.

I also like his typo of "Loyal" for the Royal Mercury typewriter; we've had this machine out to the beach at Oceanside, California, the last few years during vacation, and it has indeed been loyal.

Another detail I observed was that he wrote out his rough draft longhand, in pencil, prior to typing it up. As if he's been paying some attention to you know who. And he did all this while I was at work. A great treat to find when I came home.

The White Shed

The Line Writer has been busy with school work for months, thus hasn't posted anything recently. But last night we gathered in the newly remodeled White Shed, a combination Man Cave and Club House (for men of all ages - but women are welcome, too) and, with classical music on the radio, he sat and sketched this illustration of the shed's interior, while I wrote my blog article, and Nana read.

Aluminum Foil Typewriter

The Line Writer has been making collage art from found objects since early childhood. This is his latest creation, the chassis of which is built around a metal crayon box, the rest built up from aluminum foil, which his Grandma was more than happy to donate from the kitchen drawer supply. While it doesn't actually type, you'll be happy to know that the platen is removable, and it sports details like a black ribbon and type bars.

Sorry if it has felt like I had abandoned you, my fellow writer fans! It's that I have been busy with my new sister. Oh, I almost forgot my mom just had a little girl her name is "Indigo Lux". The time is 8:35 PM, we are at the Flying Star. Earlier we went to the Bio Park and the aquarium, we got to (see) a bunch of different bugs at the Bio Park too. I keep staring at "Heintz" ketchup bottle that is set at our table. Ahhh the grinding of coffee and sipping of it. I must pack up and end until next time I come back but for now I must think of my next devious story to talk about.

The Line Writer and his Grandpa Joe went to breakfast at Winning Coffee, where they met Joe's friend Morgan Ibarra, the writer, who was clacking away on his typewriter, working on the sequel to his first novel "Scamming God".

Grandpa Joe asked The Line Writer to put some thoughts down on paper. And then Bradley, the bookseller, was setting up his display, and we had to look.

The Line Writer found this H.G. Wells book.

"Today is September Sixth 2009.

today was a cleaning day because my Mom wanted to clean up our stinky old house. So my job (usually) was cleaning up the dishes, my laundry, and (sweep), clean my room. that's (basically) it i'm glad i don't (have) to cut the (lawn). But today was not just a boring day one or a (couple) of crazy stuff happened. the first thing was that i was sitting at the (table) writing like usual then my pencil just flew out of my hand and then it did some stunts and then it stop(p)ed moving and it flew right back into my hand. i asked my grandpa about it all he could do is just open his eyes wide in amazement. so then i asked my grandma and she said "it's an ancient japane(s)e pencil that was used for writing the (japanese) law so we did research on it. and then we just put it (where) no one can find it under the house. it still to this day is under our house(.)"

To day was a long day my brother has just turned 1!!!!! It is very exciting. I heard they are going to have another this is going to be my mom's third baby and i am one of them. I also have 2more brother's. there name's are niko and marcos jr my dad's name is marcos they are my half brother's but they seem like real brother's to me on my mom's side there is my 1 year old brother cash who is the one who had the birthday party to day he had a YO GABBA GABBA party it is some new program. I am here wonce again at my grandma's clacking away at my type writer. While my grandpa is in his office downloading some photograph's that he took at my brother's party I am anxious to see them. Wonce again the photo artist has done it again folk's.

Today Was a Long Day

To day was a long day. A lot has happend to. The first thing I did was to get up brush my teeth watch my brother while my mom take's a shower. Having him crall around the bed. while trying to watch TV, I have just got a new type-writer. From BROWN & SMITH. A old hermes 3000. I ahve just recently heard that my Uncle has pneumonia. He has prescription luckly. My cap to my tooth has fallen off. I have to get it replaced my cap.

Now i am sitting inside with my grandpa while he is type about a blog while I am typing about the day. Time is flying by quickly. I have just taken a picture of a brass switch holder cover for the wall. I can hear the thunder out side of the screen door that is partially open and you can see the reflection of the ligh's from teh chandelier. My grandpa has just taught me how to make a one sheeted paper book. It is so cool it is amazing.
